Hundreds of marijuana plants valued at more than $1.2 million were seized after detectives discovered a growing operation inside a warehouse in Industry, authorities said Wednesday.
A man, whose identity hasn’t been released, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the growing operation in the 18000 block of Railroad Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responding to a fire alarm call arrived at the warehouse and smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana, authorities said. They also saw lights and chemicals used in the cultivation of the plants.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies entered the warehouse and discovered three rooms containing more than 300 plants, whose street value exceeded $1.2 million, authorities said.
